Mini R52 / R53 Cooper S Catback Exhaust 2.5″ Performance Sports Stainless Steel System
This exhaust system replaces everything from the cat back. It is made from 63mm tube which gives excellent flow and able to handle high horsepower applications if the supercharger has had it’s boost increased.
Fits the Mini R53 Cooper S and R52 Cooper S models only.
2021 Design Revision
New for 2021 we have redesigned this exhaust and the tailpipes now come welded together. No more struggling trying to align the tailpipes. As far as we are aware this is the only R53 Cooper S exhaust made this way and it really simplifies the installation.
This exhaust was designed to compliment our race exhaust, the race exhaust was designed to flow and give a loud exhaust sound but with this we have used chambered boxes so it is much quieter. Round town and on a motorway it is easy to live with however when you put your foot to the floor you will still get the sound of the supercharged engine under the bonnet.
It has twin 3 1/4″ tailpipes and comes with everything you see in the pictures.
Made by Malian Exhausts from high quality stainless steel and complete with a full fitting kit this exhaust is really easy to fit and will last for many years to come. All welds are done using TIG for ultimate quality and looks.
The early R53 pre-facelift had a slightly different hanger setup at the rear near the battery box and if you have one of these cars you might need to shorten the centre pipe slightly and bend the hangers to get everything to line up. As with all car modification a little fettling to get it to fit is often part of the fun.
Once fitted the car will have more power and a sporty exhaust note.

Cant beat it for the money, Tig welded too! Bit fiddle to assemble the loop and the ‘Malian’ logo brackets are upsides down when fitted which is a shame because they are smart, but they under car I suppose so makes no difference. The hangars are supplied about an inch too long so need to be heated and bent to sit where you want it but thats so it can be fitted to both pre and post facelift cars I guess! This system is like night and day compared to the other ASBO loud Race system Malian do, this one sounds just right, needs a few tweeks when fitting but cant complain for the price! Think it sounds better the the resonated Miltek I have on my other R53 to be honest too! 👍

Fast delivery and so far an excellent exhaust for the price. It looks great and appears to be well made. It is louder than I expected with lots of pops and bangs, but does sound really nice with a deep sporty sound. You definitely get noticed!! 😊

Bought system for r53. Arrived the following morning. Fitted at mot station and took 40mins. Guys impressed with quality and how well it fitted. Sound great, not offensive or droney at motorway speed. Pops nicely on over run without bangs. Overall every pleased. Would be perfect if the clamps where stainless too. Definitely recommend!

Exhaust delivered quickly and well packaged. As others have said this is a quality made stainless exhaust system and even the fitters commented on how well made it is. Took them a couple of hours as they had to heat some of the hangers to fit, mine is a post facelift so not sure if that’s the reason. I wanted a reasonably loud exhaust but didn’t wanna go for the full race system, however I was worried this one wouldn’t be loud enough – but it’s absolutely spot-on – loud enough when you put your foot down but you can drive it quietly if needed (just about).
Very happy, highly recommemded.
