Toyota MR2 Spyder 1.8 Performance Stainless Downpipe + Sports Cat
Replacement stainless steel performance exhaust downpipe for the MR2 Spyder with a 200-cell sports cat.
Comes with the gaskets and bolts as shown in the images, this part weighs 4.4kg
The pipes are 2″ ID from the manifold and open to a single 2.5″ pipe.
Replacing the standard downpipe with this pipe will give you an extra 5 – 10 BHP depending on which other mods you already have on the car.
Here is a link to a video of one of our customers cars after fitting one of these pipes, he already has a Remus exhaust fitted. – https://youtu.be/3C0ISBnhq_Q
Direct replacement, does not fit in exactly the same way as the OEM pipe. The joint that has a ring gasket will be replaced with a solid joint.
Those who are inexperienced in vehicle modification and exhaust work might find the change of joint a little confusing, a fitting guide will be provided if requested. We would always recommend having parts fitted by a trained motorsport or exhaust professional.
Please note these calalytic converters are easily damaged by raw fuel so if your car has a fault and is putting unburnt fuel into the exhaust or has lots of cold starts without a full warm throught it won’t be long before the cat fails. Sports cats are designed for track use and need to be run hotter than a OE cat to become efficient.

It’s great! Nice and shiny, helped with finally reducing exhaust leaks to 0, has a downstream oxygen sensor plug for a 2zz swap which I needed badly. Fits well with the MWR 2zz swap header, and fitment was easy. A warning to anyone using a lotus style resonator or top speed product with the dual tip in the center, it might hit the catalytic converter, but for me I just detached the exhaust tip and went on to plumb a different tip. Did not like how the tip was anyway, it was not centered correctly. Might be able to fit it if you cut into the bumper, but I’m gonna put a muffler anyway to alleviate the drone without one. Shipped to USA quickly with DHL, absolutely saved my weekend plans. I’m not sponsored and I am not trying to gain followers, I don’t have a professional Instagram account but I have pictures of this exhaust if you want to see it, @theitsybitsymr2spidey . I would recommend this exhaust if you needed a downstream o2 for a 2zz swap and you’re using a stock style MWR header or any of the headers that are using the stock style o2 ports to pass visual Inspection, unfortunately I’m not in California, I would like to know if this would pass their smog, although it’s stated this passes the UK MOT so if that helps, there’s that. Completely satisfied with the product for my needs. Definitely a lighter cat and smaller than stock. Picture is a little different, the flex pipe was extended I think to update the fitment. It worked well with my stock plumbing. Love the way it sounds.
