Mazda MX5/Miata Mk2/Mk2.5 1.6/1.8 4″ JDM Cannon Catback Exhaust
Designed for Mazda MX-5/Miata Mk2 and Mk2.5 models with the 1.6 or 1.8 engine, this system gives the rear of the car a distinctive angled JDM-style finish. The removable baffle provides a choice of exhaust character.
The system uses 2.25-inch stainless-steel pipework, TIG-welded joints and vehicle-specific hangers and connections.
Key features
- Vehicle-specific fitment: Mazda MX5 / Miata Mk2/Mk2.5 (NB/NBFL) — 98-05
- Freer-flowing rear exhaust layout with application-specific connections
- 2.25″ pipework · Stainless Steel construction · TIG-welded joints
- Fitting kit included
- 4″ / 102mm JDM tailpipe
Sound and character
The angled 4-inch tailpipe produces a deeper, more assertive exhaust note, while the removable baffle provides a quieter option when preferred.
Design features
Vehicle-specific hangers and connections follow the original mounting points, while the angled, straight-cut tailpipe creates the characteristic JDM appearance.
Fitment notes
The removable baffle is a close fit by design. If removal is required, a slide hammer may be useful; protect the tailpipe finish and check alignment afterwards.
Important: The catalyst position differs between Mk2 and Mk2.5 models. On the Mk2 this system replaces the exhaust from the catalytic converter rearwards; on the Mk2.5 it connects after the centre section because the catalyst sits closer to the manifold.

Mazda MX-5 Mk2 and Mk2.5: Built Around the Roadster
The second-generation Mazda MX-5 combines low weight, compact dimensions and a simple rear-wheel-drive layout. A well-matched exhaust can add a deeper, more distinctive tone while preserving the responsive character that makes these cars so enjoyable to drive.
Although the Mk2 and Mk2.5 share the same basic platform, the catalytic converter is positioned differently. On Mk2 models it is located in the centre pipe, while Mk2.5 models position it between the manifold and centre pipe. Confirm the NB or NBFL chassis reference, engine size and product-specific fitment notes before ordering.

| Important Notes | The iconic JDM Exhaust, has the angled up straight cut 4" tailpipe which comes supplied with a removable baffle.
